The AGI Minority Participation Program
For the past 30 years, the American Geological Institute has administered the Minority Participation Program. The broad goal for this program is to maintain and increase incrementally the number of underrepresented ethnic-minority students in the geosciences. Since employment opportunities in the geosciences increase significantly for those who hold graduate degrees, the program targets the increased matriculation of minority students in advanced-degree programs. Recipients of AGI Minority Geoscience Scholarship are provided with small financial awards ($500 to $1,000) and the opportunity to interact with a mentor from the geoscience community within our AGI MPP Advisory Committee.
If you are enrolled in an earth science education or geoscience degree program and would like to apply for an AGI MPP Minority Geoscience Scholarship for the 2002-2003 school year, please review the qualifications and procedures outlined on the Application Form. All application materials must be received at AGI by March 1, 2002. http://www.agiweb.org/education/mpp.html
The Society of Exploration Geophysicists Scholarship Program
